High Desert in Winter

This is the mountain passes between California and Nevada. The elevation was about 7000 ft., the last week in December. Yes, this is snow covering everything and not sand. I know what the standard objections are: "Shot at midday", "No definite subject". Well I did break it into thirds and I did place the Joshua tree at the lower right power point. But really the mountains were the subject. they had a very surreal appearance that the film has captured.

Is this better?

Both images were captured with my Minolta X-700 and Tamron 28-200. The film was Kirkland Signature (yes I found another roll in the back of the fridge). The exposure was 1/30 @ f22 with polarizing filter, on tripod. The scan was done from the negatives with my Epson Perfection 3200.
