You Be The Print Judge

Cable Kitties

When I was young, how young I don't know. I started referring to the power towers by their shape. The type shown above I called "cats". The ones without top ears were "dogs". There were rockets and even aliens marching across the desert. These Alien cats were captured marching across the Snake River Birds of Prey Area in southwestern Idaho. It was near sunset and we were driving around kind of lost. We were not able to find our way out before dark and kept on coming upon signs that marked the boundaries of artillery firing ranges. Yes, the Birds of Prey Area contains the Ada County National Guard Maneuver Area and the Mountain Home Air Force Base Gunnery Range. We were kind of worried that we might become the target of a very large Bird of Prey, or maybe a Tank.

This image was captured with my Minolta X-700 and Tamron 28-200. The film was Fuji Provia F. The exposure was not recorded. The scan was done with my new Epson Perfection 3200. What a wonderful machine! I reduced and sharpened the image in Photoshop.

I made another image at the same time with my Mamiya RZ, using Kodak 400VC film. The difference between The proof print and the negative is amazing.
